This body, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Universities and the rectors of all public and private universities in Spain, recognizes the institutional validity of the studies offered by these centers.

The Higher School of Engineering and Technology (ESIT), the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Health Sciences of the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) have obtained institutional accreditation by the Council of Universities, after the favorable report of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) in recognition of the excellence of its training offer.

The institutional accreditation granted by the Council of Universities, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Universities and the rectors of all public and private universities in Spain, is a vote of maximum confidence in the center for maintaining quality criteria and guidelines in the studies it teaches.

This way, students are guaranteed that UNIR provides quality training in all its aspects, both in the curriculum and in the academic faculty. In addition, it is certified that ESIT, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Health Sciences provide students of all their degrees with the necessary skills for their professional development.

The Council of Universities has already granted the same recognition to the Faculty of Business and Communication and the Faculty of Education of UNIR.

Collective Work

“The institutional accreditation of a university comes to be, in a certain way, like the recognition of the collective work of the teaching and research staff and that of management and services. It also implies the prior accreditation of a large part of the degrees taught at that center and its internal quality system. From this point of view, it is, without a doubt, a very powerful endorsement for students and their future employers”, affirms the rector of UNIR, José María Vázquez García-Peñuela.

The Commission for Verification and Accreditation of Study Plans of the Council of Universities thus resolves the request for institutional accreditation of the three centers presented by UNIR, which already had a favorable report from the Advisory Committee for Institutional Accreditation of ANECA.

The Advisory Committee for the Institutional Accreditation of ANECA, responsible for the evaluation, verified the status of the renewal of the accreditation of all the degrees of the center, as well as the validity of the certificate implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SAIC), in the Registry of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT). The three UNIR centers obtained the certification of their Internal Quality Assurance System (SAIC) after passing the corresponding audit process.
